Robur was founded by a father and son team who manage a family office. Our investment mentalilty has always been about making sensible investment decisions based on solid company financial data. Our primary goal is to generate a mixture of income and capital gains, while minimising risk by investing in solid companies across a broad range of indexes.

For us, one of our biggest challenges in equity investing has always been finding quality data to help develop buy ideas. The market is awash with articles, ideas and blogs of various quality, yet as full time investors, we know that fundamental data is a key component in security analysis and we would never purchase an equity without performing the necessary financial due diligence.

Products such as the Bloomberg Terminal were difficult for us to justify in terms of cost and the sharp learning curve, and the amount of functions that go unused. At the same time, cheaper alternatives often had inaccurate or missing data, and the lack of standardisation made it difficult to compare companies like for like.

And so we decided to develop Robur.

We have put a lot of our own ideas and personalities into Robur, which you will see reflected in the way in which the Robur Terminal functions. However we always welcome any and all product feedback.
