Good governance of an index or index family is vital for market acceptance. Moorgate Benchmarks works with its clients to create and document governance structures that ensure indices are free from conflicts of interest, and that calculation and review errors are minimised, without imposing dramatic changes on clients’ established procedures and processes. 

Where appropriate, we help to create governance committees and user advisory panels that contribute significantly to acceptance of an index‘s methodology and governance. Additionally, in certain circumstances we provide the expertise of our staff, as members or Chairs of committees.

We also take on the full administration of and regulatory responsibility for individual indices or index families, thereby removing much of the difficulty in index management, and reducing significantly the various risks, including legal risks, of being an index administrator.
