In yesterday's blog, we highlighted the 4 challenges of consistent exposure, cost and return on investment, noise and market trends and increasing competition that we see solution providers facing as they seek to market themselves to the wealth management sector. In this blog, we cover 4 more.

So, what are the other 4 challenges that solution providers face in targeting wealth managers?

1. Market understanding
Does your target audience know what you do and/or everything that you do? Maybe you are known for one thing, which is great on the one hand, but might also mean the buyer market has no idea about the rest of your solutions. We have heard this time and time again from both the buyer and the seller. There is a frequent lack of understanding in the market about what solution providers do and where they are relevant which is ultimately damaging to your businesses.

A significant element of our proposition to solution providers is that we can support in clearly telling the market who you are (business profile), what you do (solution profile/s) and what you know and think (knowledge resource content). Not only that, but we also position that content in the right place, where it is relevant, so it is not just left floating in midair.

2. Content creation and distribution
Content is king, apparently. Whether it be research, articles, blogs, videos, events, infographics and so on, we now live in a world where easy to digest content is core to any solution providers’ marketing effort. Easier said than done, of course, whether it be due to market knowledge, time, cost or an (understandable) lack of skill in that area within a specific business.

A very important part of our platform is therefore about content. Not only can we host your existing content in various areas of our site, we can also distribute it to our network and our partners’ networks, work with you to create content (such as video interviews now but soon to include things like our data and research) and, being a marketplace, support you to connect with firms that can help you create more content.

3. Engagement and the network
A solution provider may very well have a great database of market contacts but these firms and individuals presumably already know who you are. No question having that network is far better than not having it but what about reaching to new audiences and prospective buyers? Again, that is a challenge which is not easily overcome alone due to a range of factors.

4. Reach
Many solution providers are trying to sell their solutions either globally or in multiple geographies. Their challenge in doing that is to be easily discovered in multiple markets without incurring significant cost. Advertising, travel, hiring staff and finding partners to support is often prohibitively expensive and therefore the cost of building awareness is high. This gets worse the more markets you target.
