Can you please provide us with an introduction to the Geneva WealthTech Forum? What is it, when is it, where is it and why does the event matter?
The Geneva WealthTech Forum is based on a public-private partnership and aims to promote and consolidate the position of the Geneva financial center as a global hub of Wealthtech. The second edition of the event will be held on March 14th 2019 at the Biotech Campus in Geneva. The event itself will feature an important number of high-calibre specialists from various industries in and around the Swiss and international financial ecosystems, including asset management, wealth management, family offices, technology, FinTech, legal, academics and government.

The philosophy and objective of the forum is to bring together all of the major players in the financial marketplace around a WealthTech theme, in order to lay the foundations for the creatoon of a solid hub. Geneva, and the lakeside region, are both world leaders in the wealth management industry as well as in technology. The combination of the two is one of the greatest game changing opportunities of the last decades and to be an early participant in this shift will be a clear advantage.

Which organisations are involved in supporting the event, how and why?
The Geneva government is an official public partner for the event. Many other local and international corporations are supporting the event either through sponsorship, participation in panels or through other means. There are probably several reasons why these organisations wish to support the event, including the networking opportunities or the possibility to participate in the early construction of an important project for this region. The position of Geneva as a leader in banking industry and new technologies is clear. Therefore, different actors want to support this effort whether for lead generation, brand brand visibility or more.

There is a change in paradigm within the banking industry and the Geneva WealthTech Forum is taking the lead to highlight the role and position of Geneva within that. For this reason, the forum provides an excellent content strategy as well as business relationship among the different actors.

What type of firms and individuals will be attending the event?
We aim – and are clearly reaping positive results – to bring together a large number of decision-makers and experts from these areas - banks, family offices, FinTech entrepreneurs, incubators and accelerators, as well as venture capitalists and other important investors from Switzerland and abroad.

Audience insights are important to make the forum an international hub for WealthTech. Decision makers from these industries will be coming to present, meet and learn about the best banking industry techniques and the latest technologies.

What is the structure of the event, what topics will be covered and what can an attendee expect from the day?
The forum is a full-day event, from 9am in the morning until 5pm. We will spend the whole day exchanging ideas and views on different topics related to the WealthTech market such as tokenization, quantum computing and the best technologies that seek to better serve the client of the future.

The agenda is broken down into four plenary sessions which seek to dissect the milestones of the future banking industry, in other words WealthTech. An updated agenda for the event is available here: www.genevawealthtechforum.com

Why should a wealth manager, solution provider or other participate come to the event?
The banking industry is changing at a speed never before seen. This is great in terms of the possibilities and further potential for the growth of the industry. However, we need to understand those changes and lead them, particularly through the role and application of technology. In that sense, we believe the Geneva WealthTech Forum is an excellent structure for both wealth managers and solution providers alike. The forum will be a place for them to drive change via new opportunities. It is an ideal place for wealth managers, family offices and banks to exchange ideas and further orientate themselves towards the industry of the future. It is also the ideal place for solution providers to get access to their buying audience and understand their perception of the industry and how they can adapt efficiently towards the clients of tomorrow.
