RJ Assaly, Chief Product Officer at TOGGLE answers our questions on TOGGLE's AI investment dashboard.

Tell us about TOGGLE
TOGGLE is an AI-powered investment dashboard started by ex-hedge fund managers looking to make sense of the ever-increasing amounts and complexity of market data.

TOGGLE’s intuitive dashboard allows investors and their advisors to know what is moving over 35,000 assets (equities, currencies, crypto, rates). It uses AI/machine learning to scan millions of data points to provide historical insights as to what typically happens next.

TOGGLE offers two products: TOGGLE Pro, which is catered toward professional investors and is used by managers who steward over US$165 billion; and TOGGLE Copilot, which is geared toward retail investors who have connected over US$1 billion in portfolios since we launched. Early investors include Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group and Stanley Druckenmiller.

It has won ‘Best financial Research company’ at Benzinga’s 2021 Global FinTech Awards and has been featured in MarketWatch, TD Ameritrade Live, and more.

Considering the wealth management sector is made up of different types and sizes of firms, what types of wealth managers do you work with, in which geographies, and does that differ for specific solutions?
We cater to investment decision-makers across all types of institutions such as RIAs, brokerages, private banks, asset managers, long-short, pension funds, family offices, and private banks. Because we cover over 40,000 assets, including over 400 cryptocurrencies, our clients span geographies and use cases.

We also offer custom solutions for large brokerages like Interactive Brokers or LINE Securities CFD in Japan.

How is your solution offering set up to support the ever-changing management sector? What are the characteristics that support the new and evolving needs of wealth managers?
Time and time again advisors will get asked ‘What is likely to happen to my holding in this company if inflation spikes or oil drops?’. In the absence of a house view on that specific event, an advisor is usually unable to provide an acceptable response. TOGGLE allows investors to always have an answer, they cannot predict the future but can share exactly when that has happened before, how often, and what it historically meant for that security.

Time in and time out, advisors are asked questions like, ‘What happens to a certain asset when US inflation is higher than expectation or when the US yield curve steepens to 25bps in a month?’. We set out to answer these questions and serve our users’ needs by allowing investors to test and find solutions to hypothetical questions without knowing any code. We wanted this tool to be based on technical analysis, historical data, and patterns, modelled using machine learning. At the same time, we wanted to ensure that as we continually reinforce the technical power of our engine, we kept the interface as intuitive and simple as possible. The flexibility of the TOGGLE interface allows advisors to dig as deep as they want into each individual analysis.

Can you give us a live example of where your solutions have been deployed, why you were chosen and what you are doing for that case/client?
TOGGLE AI listened to our community of over 75,000 users and recently came out with Scenario, an easy-to-use hypothesis testing tool. Scenario empowers users to ask and answer any market questions, without knowing how to code. We have RIA clients that use Scenario to quickly respond to market movements. When the Fed makes a major move our advisor clients can quickly see how specific securities have reacted in the past to the same Fed move, all without coding, downloading any data or wading through PDFs trying to find salient data points.

Want to know what would happen to Tesla when Ford has earnings, and the US economy starts slowing down? What usually happens when Apple beats earnings? Scenario is here to help answer questions like these. Using machine learning and time-series analyses, TOGGLE analyzes billions of data points and analyzes financial news to help users understand what will impact their holdings depending on possible situations.

Finally, can you tell us what is coming next with regard to your further development of the solution offering? What does the market need to know about your development plans?
TOGGLE is excited to continue to expand portfolio functionality to Scenario. Want to see how a tweak to your model portfolio looks if we suddenly pivot to a deflationary environment? We can show you that in seconds. Want to show a prospect what could happen to their current portfolio if the Fed suddenly hikes by 75bps? Point, click, done!
