Vantage Software was founded in 1999 by a former senior executive of Bain Capital who was frustrated by the time-consuming inefficiencies of managing private equity deal-flow, investor accounting, and reporting. Vantage’s founders were stuck using a stand-alone system and a lot of spreadsheets to do a job that they believed modern technology should be able to manage. Knowing that modern technology could help alternative investment managers become more efficient and serve investors better – and at a more reasonable cost than most vendors in this arena — Vantage Software was born.

In 2021, seeing the opportunity to leverage our years of experience and excellent client relationships, First Rate, Inc. acquired Vantage. For more than 30 years, First Rate has provided innovative solutions and services to help financial firms create absolute transparency, enhance efficiency, and empower advisors to create more meaningful and intelligent investment strategies for their clients. With the financial and organizational support of First Rate, our goal is to significantly expand functionality, offer new services, build our team, and grow the Vantage business.
