Our History
Fred Amrein is the founder of PayForED. He saw the lack of information available for parents and students to fully understand how to pay for college. The current process has resulted in higher debt for most student loan borrowers and confusion regarding their student loan repayment options.
In late 2015, Fred partnered with a software development company to develop a cloud-based suite of solutions to address the college affordability and student loan problem. The platform used his customized spreadsheets as a foundation. These programs were used to help thousands of college funding and student loan repayment customers.
The national launch of the entire PayForED software platform occurred in 2018. This launch also included a complete financial advisor training program (College Funding and Student Loan Advisor) which was awarded the CFP CE Quality Partner Status. In January 2023 seeing the need for a stand-alone course for Student Loans, the company added our second financial advisor training program (Student Loan Repayment Advisor) which was also awarded the CFP CE Quality Partner Status.
