The Incentage Portfolio Data Integrator is the industry-leading solution to integrate custodian data into portfolio management systems. At the same time, data quality is increased due to automated reconciliation with custodian portfolios.

The issue
The asset managers provide high quality and high-value services to their clients through the provision of advice and the active management of their clients’ portfolios. In order to maintain the maximum investment flexibility for their clients, they use the services of multiple asset custodians and other data service providers, e.g. market data providers. To ensure the quality of their offering and to raise the value of their portfolio management services, most asset managers have either bought a third party application or developed their own portfolio management system (PMS).

Usually, the custodian does not deliver the data in a format that can be easily imported into the PMS. To enjoy the full benefits an interface needs to be developed by the asset manager himself. This alone is a daunting task, which needs to be repeated for every custodian, as they do not use the same formats for their data.

Once the solution is indeed implemented, the work is not over yet. Frequent changes to the transmitted formats by the custodians require a significant ongoing effort to maintain the solution. Any changes to the investment universe by the asset manager may lead to new types of information sent by the custodians (new transaction types, new corporate actions, etc.). Changes to the import interface by the PMS vendor also have an impact on the existing interfaces.
