Hosted at Killik & Co in Mayfair on 16th April 2024, the UK WealthTech Vendor Forum will be the first of an ongoing set of events exclusively for technology and related vendors, bringing them together to learn, share, network, and, where relevant, partner.

As across most of the world, the wealth management sector in the UK has a growing need for technology. With the rapid advances in the technologies and tools available to the market, including many specifically designed for wealth management, there has been growing interest in the field of technology for wealth management, commonly referred to as WealthTech. While this growth presents many opportunities, challenges still need to be addressed. These drivers for change have created a need for community development and for people to come together to learn, share, network, and partner.

This is why we at The Wealth Mosaic have launched the UK WealthTech Vendor Forum, an exclusive event for technology and related firms serving or aiming to serve any aspect of the UK wealth management sector. The Forum is a quarterly event that will bring together the diverse spectrum of vendors and related providers targeting this sector. The first event is sponsored by Alpha FMC and will be held on April 16, 2024, at Killik & Co in Mayfair from 5.30 pm to 8.30 pm, followed by others in June, September, and December.

SO, WHY JOIN US AT THE FORUM?

At its heart, the WealthTech Vendor Forum is designed to facilitate four main benefits for our attendees:

Community learning
Each Forum is centred around a specific topic or objective to serve as a learning resource for the WealthTech community. The first Forum will focus on the UK wealth management landscape, covering its shape, trends, and themes.

As we move forward in this new event series, we are planning to cover a range of topics, and we want the community to help shape them. Topics will include compliance and Consumer Duty, industry mergers and acquisitions, artificial intelligence, engineering and technology trends, partnership strategy, sales strategy, overseas market entry, people and recruitment, and many more.

Knowledge sharing
The Forum was initially an idea that came up during a conversation with a vendor in the US. They expressed their desire to share their market experiences with other vendors and to have a means to do that. Even though companies may claim to be unique in their marketing and sales efforts, most vendors operate under similar circumstances when it comes to their target market, business objectives, challenges, and the behaviours and expectations they encounter in the marketplace. The Forum provides an opportunity to share their experiences with peers.

Vendor collaboration
Very simply, by hosting these get-togethers and putting this community in the room, there will naturally be the opportunity for attendees and members to network, catch up with existing contacts and make new ones.

Supporting partnerships
We believe that the Forum will be a useful platform for companies to collaborate, whether on specific projects or as part of their overall business strategy. Given the needs of the buyers that this community serves or targets, it's clear that vendors working together in a connected and integrated way will be increasingly relevant.

WHAT TO EXPECT ON THE DAY?

The first WealthTech Vendor Forum will focus on the UK wealth management landscape, covering its shape, trends, and themes.

To kick off the event, there will be a brief introduction by us, The Wealth Mosaic, where we will discuss the Forum's purpose, its plans and projects for 2024, and will give a preview of its new website.

The main keynote of the evening will be delivered by Adam Croutear, Associate Director, Wealth at Alpha FMC, and will focus on 'The UK Wealth Management Landscape: Shape, Trends & Themes'. This presentation will provide an overview of the industry today, looking at various aspects such as segments, what is driving change, where technology fits in, and what that means for technology and other related vendors serving this market. In addition, Adam will be accompanied by his colleagues Caroline Burkart, Scott Lee, and Jamie Forrester, who will support a broad discussion with attendees throughout the day.

After the Alpha FMC presentation and Q&A, there will be a several 10-15 minute slots available for any vendor who wants to present their proposition to other vendors before we wrap up for drinks and networking.
