The wealth management sector is changing. Too radical and unwarranted to some. Necessary and natural to others. Wherever you sit on this topic, it is hard to argue that the old ways of doing business arn't being ushered out, to be replaced by a new, more dynamic and engaging model.

From our perspective, a lot is set for change: who the client is, their net worth, how they are reached and served, the solution offering, who or what serves them and how the service is delivered. The traditional model will only partly define how the sector will look in the future. Multiple change factors including the needs and expectations of clients, the role and influence of regulation, the potential of technology and more are shaping the behaviour and nature of the sector. Yet we remain relatively early in a journey that will witness ongoing change.

With this backdrop, the business needs of wealth managers in running their businesses and serving their clients are more complex, more numerous and more challenging. Given this, we believe there is a growing need for firms to work with a broad range of solution providers to remain relevant and competitive. As their engagement with the ecosystem around them evolves, we also fundamentally believe that wealth managers will need to develop a far deeper ongoing understanding of who is in their supplier environment, what they do, where they fit and more.
