The wealth management sector is facing significant and ongoing change, even if the pace of change sometimes appears slow today and some still refute it. As we have heard several times recently, it is like the quoted boiling frog analogy.

The evidence abounds for change and the result, we believe, will be a significant shift in what wealth management is, who it is for and how it is delivered. To get there, however, there will need to be a significant uptick in understanding of what is happening now, what needs to happen to in the short-term to retain relevance and more sustained thinking and actions as to what the future might look like.

That change and that journey is one of the prime drivers why we are building The Wealth Mosaic. Given the scale and breadth of everything that is happening, we believe there is a clear need to support the sector with a dedicated, accessible, curated and engaging digital knowledge resource.

To go a little bit deeper into our thinking, below we highlight some of the reasons why we are building The Wealth Mosaic. Taken together it is because there is a clear need in the market, whether from wealth managers or solution providers.

Three general reasons why we are building The Wealth Mosaic:

  • Change around the sector is broad and moving faster but the themes are very similar whether considered by geography or by different wealth management business model. That is why our focus is first global but then also allows for both geographic and business model-based refocus.
  • Existing knowledge resources, particularly considering solutions and solution providers, are far too fragmented, not dedicated to wealth management (captured generally as fintech, for instance) and/or far too costly or time consuming to access and follow. By bringing thousands of relevant solutions, solution providers and knowledge resources into one easy-to-access and intelligent platform, we save time, money and hassle.
  • The wealth management sector is now far more professional, clear and distinguishable than ever before. It is no longer the poor relation of others like retail banking or capital markets and has clear needs. Wealth has evolved and needs a dedicated and focused knowledge resource to support its change and ongoing development.

As the sector continues to evolve, The Wealth Mosaic aims to provide a clear bridge between the business needs of wealth managers and the large marketplace of relevant solutions, solution providers and knowledge resources that can support those.

To deliver that, we have to be dedicated. First to the wealth management sector and second to our platform, which we are building out from a directory of solutions and solutions providers. By being dedicated to those core elements of our business and platform, we can engage with and better understand the needs of the market, we can be that deep discovery resource, we can do the search work for the market and we can invest in building, maintaining and tracking a broad range of knowledge resources relevant resource for the knowledge and business needs of the sector.
