aspectra provides a customised, reliable environment for operation and developmentaspectra provides a customised, reliable environment for operation and development

Unblu's highly secure interaction and collaboration software enables financial service providers worldwide to provide dedicated online customer care while at the same time enrich the digital experience of their clients with features such as co-browsing, secure messenger, live chat, video & voice and screen sharing. Unblu found an optimal environment at aspectra for the further development as well as the reliable operation of their OpenShift solution.

In 2019, Unblu was looking for a certified partner meeting the highest compliance standards for hosting their conversational platform. Their key requirements were:

  • Data hosting in Switzerland
  • 24/7 service, and
  • Experience with banks and insurance companies.

Moreover, the Unblu executives wanted to develop and operate their platform in an OpenShift environment. aspectra offered the desired all-round package in combination with expert project management services and won the contract. According to Jens Rabe, COO of Unblu, they continue to be pleased with the decision: "We consider aspectra to be a very reliable partner who has consistently delivered the desired quality since day one of our collaboration."

Targeted use of resources
The partners laid the foundation for the collaboration at an initial solution workshop. During the workshop, managers from Unblu and aspectra jointly defined the processes and requirements for the partnership. In the following months, the Unblu systems were transferred to aspectra's OpenShift platform. When putting the new processes in place, the partners focused on sustainable risk management and a consequent implementation of Segregation of Duties (SOD). With aspectra as hosting partner, Unblu can now completely hand over the operation of their communication platform and focus their resources on its development. The test and stage environments in OpenShift by aspectra grant Unblu's developers simultaneously flexibility of design and reliability in quality assurance. "OpenShift is elastic, resilient and keeps the infrastructure separate from our application. It also allows us to install our own cloud and on-premise installations for our customers in the exact same way," explains Jens Rabe. A live deployment takes place every two to three weeks. These updates are installed by aspectra in the productive environment, for whose operation it is solely responsible.

Excellent coordination in the team
The Unblu developers regularly discuss improvements to the application or infrastructure with the responsible aspectra site managers. The partners are well attuned to each other and know what is of importance to one another. The processes that were defined at the beginning have proven to be effective. "Our site managers clearly have an understanding of our business and always have a solution at hand," confirms Jens Rabe.
