Vendors, advisers and market observers came together at the UK WealthTech Vendor Forum for a grounded view WealthTech landscape’s evolution as the industry enters 2026.

The UK WealthTech Vendor Forum 2026 opened with a presentation from Stephen Wall, Founder of The Wealth Mosaic, on a wide-angle view of the main trends areas for technology across the wealth management sector. For the wealth management industry and the WealthTech supplier market, Stephen framed 2026 as a pivotal year for technology in wealth management, driven by the convergence of maturing data strategies, practical AI adoption, and renewed urgency among wealth managers to extract value from technology spend.

Stephen expanded upon TWM’s Top 10 WealthTech trends for 2026, including the centrality of clean and usable data; how firms’ deployment of AI has shifted from experimentation to execution; the rising cybersecurity and fraud risks associated with it; and the growing pressure on firms to integrate, optimise, and justify their technology estates.

He also highlighted shifts in client expectations toward personalisation, digital engagement, broader product sets and family-office-style services – and the opportunities these expanded expectations open for technology vendors as critical enablers of the industry’s next phase.

Alongside this market view, Stephen outlined The Wealth Mosaic’s own evolution as a platform designed to help vendors and buyers navigate an increasingly complex ecosystem – previewing the TWM roadmap for 2026, including our new brand identity, the upcoming Mosaic magazine, new Insight Report model, events, and new website, directory interface, and platform.

James Brown, CEO of BWC Benchmarking, presented data drawn from the firm’s in-depth annual survey of over 160 UK wealth management firms to paint a portrait of an industry that continues to grow assets and revenues, but under sustained margin pressure.

His analysis emphasised why technology investment has become non-negotiable. Firms that invest more heavily – and more effectively – in technology are demonstrably achieving higher adviser capacity, stronger revenues per front-office professional, and better margins. At the same time, a significant portion of the market remains loss-making or sub-scale, underscoring the scale of transformation still required.

His message for vendors was unambiguous: budgets are expanding, but expectations around ROI are rising just as fast.

Danny Martin, partner at Advintro, shifted the focus to go-to-market execution in an AI-driven environment. He explored how AI is reshaping sales processes – automating early-stage prospecting, research and qualification – while reinforcing the enduring value of human judgement, trust and relationships at the point of decision-making.

Martin linked this to broader industry challenges: inorganic growth through M&A, stagnating organic growth, fragmented tech stacks, and the need for sharper differentiation. Across these themes, data again is the key strategic asset, he argued – harder to replicate than products or pricing, and central to personalisation, risk management, and client retention.

AI accelerates opportunity, Martin argued, but only for firms with the foundations, focus and relationships to deploy it effectively.
