Earlier this year in Zürich, Switzerland, we interviewed Nelson Wootton, Founder and CEO of SaaScada at our Swiss WealthTech Live 2024 conference.
This all day event provided valuable insights into all things WealthTech in and around the Swiss and international wealth management sectors. The extensive discussions and debate covered the most pressing topics of the moment, while engaging market participants from private banks, cantonal banks, external asset managers, family offices, technology vendors, consultants, and more who shared their views, experiences and vision for the future.
We caught up with Nelson during the event and asked him to share a few thoughts on the future of wealth management.
“Although change is underway, the pace of change in wealth management is not yet what it should be”, Nelson suggests.
"At the same time, the market is seeing an ever-increasing number of FinTechs applying for licenses to operate. Positive signs that change is in fact (slowly) gathering momentum. And a reminder to the banks that they will need to continue to up their game to compete with the increasing number of FinTech and WealthTech start-ups, who have the potential to eat into their market share.”
How will the next generation interact with their wealth managers as the Great Wealth Transfer sees wealth flow from one generation to another? How will different demographic segments manage their wealth? What role will technology play?
