A guide to how wealth management is future-proofing itself for new technologies, advanced client expectations, and a transformation of operating models.

In December 2025, we published the Future View Toolkit 2025, the fourth in our Toolkit series examining the forces shaping wealth management. Since then, the story of how firms continue to grapple with change it as it unfolds, prepare for changes to come, and innovate their own changes to the wealth management landscape, has continued to unfold. Now, a few months on, it’s time to revisit the report’s key messages and consider what future-readiness really means in practice.

The Future View Toolkit 2025 set out to explore how wealth managers are preparing for a world in which technology is no longer just a collection of tools but a force shaping the broader environment in which a wealth management business operates. Artificial intelligence (AI) is expected to reshape the wealth management value chain, from front office engagement to back office processing. But successful firms are focusing less on the latest technology and more on the foundations that make technological innovations sustainable. That means clean, connected data. It means coherent operating models. It means strong governance frameworks that make automation scalable and reliable.

This emphasis on foundations reflects a broader shift in how our industry thinks about transformation. Future-readiness is not simply about adopting new solutions; it is about building infrastructure that can evolve and adapt to as yet unforeseen changes, technologies, challenges, and opportunities. Modular architectures, standardised data models, and integrated platforms are gradually replacing fragmented technology stacks and disconnected point solutions.

But although readers might have expected an outsized focus on technology and its implications in a report about future-readiness, a consistent theme to which our contributors repeatedly returned was the evolving role of human advisers in wealth management. The innovations of automation and AI stand ready to augment advisers and redefine their roles. By reducing administrative work and surface-level insights, the technologies wealth management firms are adopting are allowing their human advisers to focus on judgement, relationships, and complex decision-making. Future-ready firms will in turn select and train for the human-specific skills that allow advisers to excel in these functions more than in purely technical and administrative tasks.

The Future View Toolkit 2025 portrayed an industry not pursuing disruption for its own sake, but one undergoing purposeful, piece-by-piece evolution – an industry gradually redesigning itself to operate in a more digital and interconnected world. Future-readiness depends less on predicting what comes next and more on building organisations that can adapt. Firms that invest in strong foundations today will be best positioned to remain resilient, scalable, and relevant in the years to come.

The Future View Toolkit 2025 brought together perspectives from a range of industry participants, including technology providers and thought leaders, offering a global view of how firms are approaching future-readiness. We could not have produced this report without the help of our contributors, including:

  • Lou Celi, CEO at ThoughtLab
  • James Ward, CEO at Ward PLLC
  • Julien Schaffner, Director – Strategy, Digital, and Operations Excellence at Deloitte Luxembourg
  • Sune Mortensen, Global Head of Wealth Solutions at LSEG
  • Mark Ovaska, Co-Founder and CEO at Precept
  • Paul Brockway, Director of Insurance & Investments at LexisNexis Risk Solutions
  • Shri Krishnansen, CCO at WealthOS
  • Ian Keates, CEO at Altoo
  • Phil Watson, CEO and Co-Founder at Lightbox Wealth

The Future View Toolkit 2025 remains a key framing device for firms as they navigate their way through a rapidly changing wealth management landscape. Our contributors’ insights continue to resonate because they address structural challenges rather than passing trends. The pressure to modernise infrastructure, integrate data, and embed technology into coherent operating models is intensifying. As the industry’s experience with AI and digital transformation grows, the core argument of this Toolkit remains this: being ready for what the future brings isn’t about a particular technological capability, but on the organisational capability to adapt to whatever comes next.
